A principal engineer at BSC since 1999, Armin Rudd
conducts analysis, design, inspection, research and
development of building mechanical systems and building
envelopes. His activities focus on the overall
production homebuilding industry and commercial building
moisture investigations.
Armin worked as a research engineer at Florida Solar
Energy Center where he was involved with research,
design and testing on unvented attics in hot climates,
computer modeling of building heat and moisture
transfer, building energy analysis and
building-integrated photovoltaic power systems. His
experience also includes revising the New York State
Energy Conservation Code and the State of Florida energy
codes for residential buildings. He has worked in all
phases of residential construction and has presented at
national and international conferences. As a consultant,
Armin has been involved with numerous building projects
concerning indoor air quality, moisture control, rain
intrusion, thermal comfort and energy systems.
Armin has published many technical papers, contract
reports, research reports and proposals and a mechanical
ventilation guide. He received the Distinguished
Researcher Award in 1997 from the University of Central
Florida, Institute and Centers. He holds nine U.S.
patents including HVAC control methods and metal-wood framing member designs.
